Matam faces climate challenges: Presentation of the study on population adaptation strategies at the ETHOS 2025 Doctoriales conference

From 23 to 25 July 2025, Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar hosted the third edition of the ETHOS Doctoral School Doctoriales, on the theme of ‘Africa facing contemporary challenges’.
Among the selected papers, Dr Mor Diop presented the results of one of the qualitative studies conducted in Matam, as part of axis 6 addressing environmental and health challenges. His paper, entitled ‘Health risks and adaptation strategies of the populations of Matam in the face of extreme temperatures,’ highlighted the growing effects of climate change on the living and health conditions of local populations, as well as the adaptation strategies developed in response to these shocks.
